The member organizations of the Native Ways Federation share a commitment to bettering the lives of Native people, and pursuing that goal in accordance with only the highest principles of nonprofit integrity and honesty.
Members of the Native Ways Federation promise:
Native Leadership. Every Native Ways member is a national nonprofit organization led by a majority-Native Board of Directors.
Native Focus. Every Native Ways member organization was founded solely to work for the advancement of Indian people.
Excellence. Every Native Ways member organization meets 12 rigorous standards governing our leadership, how we administer funds, run our programs, and disclose what we do to the public.
Transparency. Every Native Ways member publicly discloses all funding sources and amounts, while scrupulously avoiding conflicts of interests and enforcing strict financial policies. We will respect donors who wish to remain anonymous.
Accountability. Every Native Ways member provides regular financial management, and program service publications which are available to all of our donors.
Tax-deductible Status. Every Native Ways member is a 501(c)(3) or 7871 nonprofit organization, so every gift is tax-deductible to the full extent permitted by the law.
Partnership. The Native Ways Federation itself will uphold and enforce the same standards as each Native Ways member, ensuring that 90% of every gift will be distributed directly to its members to support services in Native communities. |
